Issues of development the information-library activity are discussed

Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from June 20, 2006 "About organization of information and library ensuring of the Republic", identified clear tasks for the effective development of information and library facilities, improve the legal framework governing information and library activities in the country.
At the opening ceremony the workshop it was noted that in most Articles of Act are fixed norms of coordination and interaction of information and library institutions on the formation of library collections, to ensure its preservation, the formation of an electronic catalog, electronic libraries, and sharing and exchange of information and library resources, based on ICT Workshop participants acquainted with the fundamentally new features of information and communication technologies at the National Library under the new building, an automated information library system developed for automation of all library processes. The analysis of the current world library and adjacent national legislation (in economics, finance, information, archives, etc.), as well as coordination with state authorities have allowed to create the innovative Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "About information and library activities," which regulates the activity of information and library institutions, the principles and norms of the legal regulation of information and library science.
The law defined a new status and functions of information and library institutions, building of modern structures, strengthening of material-technical base and personnel support of information and library, information and resource centers and libraries to implement a new quality level of information and library services to the population based on modern information and communication technologies
On February 6th, 2012 at the National Library of Uzbekistan named. Navoi held a seminar on "Actual tasks of the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan" On information and library activities "organized by the Committee on Information and Communication Technologies of Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Uzbek Agency of Communication and Information.
In a seminar have taken part: Committee members of Information and Communication Technologies of Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Republic of Uzbekistan, representatives of the CIA Uz, leaderships and leading specialists of information and library centers of the Republic and other.
